    My SS Wall

I have been very fortunate in collecting over the past five years since I started all of this. Here is how the wall appears as of today.

Well done! But you need to hang some sharp pointy things on those tunics..

Each piece holds such interesting details and little obscure markings that take a whole lot of time and group effort to figure out. How bizarre, that some, including myself, delve this deeply into understanding a manufacturing process of a vanquished enemy that, in the grand scheme of things, matters very little. For me, these are the riddles, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma that FB reminds of us in many of his posts and what I spend a silly amount of time pursuing. I can not say why, however, I like the challenge in figuring out in what manner these little details associated with these items played a role. Picayune details of a distant time.

Hi DrCMH, what a lovely collection you have there, congratulations.
The tunic 2nd from the left, is it a Stammabteilung tunic? I have only seen these cuff titles with the word WELT on them.

You mean "West". Stammabteilung personnel wore a cuff title with the name of their respective Oberabschnitt.

Have a look at this thread for more Stammabteilung-related material (including DrCMH's tunic, examples for insignia and excerpts of a period price list showing available Stammabteilung cuff titles):

Thank you for the kind words. The collar tab is for Sta. 1, Munich and the blank cufftitle indicates that this man was attached to the Standarte's Staff. This is the only example of a Stammabteilung Tunic for a staff member I have seen.
