You won't find a date on your shell, just a batch number, shell size and maker initials -the date was on the liner ring.

Thanks mate, ill have to remove some rust this weekend to see all that, about the size, the shell is a bit small.

Hey guys, just started removing the rust from my german m40, but there is still a long way to go, this a photo of how it looked yesterday when i got it

This is how the interior looks like now, iv identified the batch number, its 1457, ill keep posting the changes as i clean it.

Hi, Went to a couple of antique fairs today and got these two items, a 1935 Adolf Hitler cigarette propaganda book and a german bayonet with the numbers 3177 and 42ASW, give me your opinons about them please.
