Bravo !
very nice : )
such collections as this give me as a "starting collector" inspiration : )
Glad you like the collection. I only had 3-4 bayonets about 5 years ago. I'm getting close to 50 including non German. It seems like I can find nice bayonet were you don't find other Third Reich items. I have gotten a lot of bayonets at Gun Shows, Gun Shops and Pawn Shops that don't deal in Third Reich items. Bayonets don't have a Nazi stigma.
I did pick up anther one of these case.
As I planned too, I placed a single LED strip underneath the front edge of each shelf then ran the wires together and out through the base of the cabinet. I had to carefully drill a hole to accommodate the wires but now they are all tidy and out of sight.
Sure is better to have lights installed than not IMO.
Very nice, friends! It's inspiring to come here and see how others display their treasures...!
About 2 years ago I bought this antique oak curio-cabinet for my collection...no lights, but I shine a small desk-lamp through the glass on the side, which provides illumination...until I figure something else out, lol...
cheers, Glenn
The lights are a major improvement. The glass on these Detlof cases makes the wall behind them have a greenish tint. Do the lights improve this? It looks like it in the photo. Thanks Kirby
Yes, these LED lights are a brilliant white so they compensate for the poor quality glass IMO.
Thanks. Makes me want to try the lights.
