I recently inherited my great grandfathers belongings from the first world war and I am very interested in learning as much as possible. If anyone could offer any advice possibly some information on his things i would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Adam, and welcome to the forum! A very nice collection.
You have a variety of Allied and German items.
It would be best to photo each one and show them in turn on the forum.
Cheers, Ade.

Great load of stuff. Nice WWII Japanese, WWI German and WWI Canadian MKII 'Ross Rifle'
bayonets, and what appears to be - a trench mace !
The box contains some cool WWI things also, from .303 bullets, cap badges,
German pickelhaub helmet plates, a match case, and some very nice
'souvenir' German shoulder boards/epaulettes and buttons.
( I've seen a few boards which were taken in the field )
As said, posting each one individually in their respective
catagories would be best.........

These are my Great Grandfathers items from the ww1 but I guess my grandfather must have added a Japanese bayonet as well after his service. That's a great start thank you!
I will do that. Thank you very much for your help.
cool trench mace.
Cheers
Dave
Agreed, that trench mace is really neat, you are very lucky!
Are you sure that's a WW2 Japanese bayonet? I have very little experience to back this up, but didn't French bayos look very similar?
Some good items you have inherited. The Victory medal at bottom right should have the name rank and unit of whom it was awarded to engraved around it's edge.
Regards,
Jerry
Whatever its just an opinion.
That's a nice collection you've got there. Thanks for posting.
