I got a mannequin a few years ago to use to display some of my WWII uniforms. I am still gathering bits & pieces of kit to complete the outfit so I have not dressed him yet. I know some of you prefer mannequins without faces or even without heads but I wanted something totally in the other direction. My nephew who is an award-winning model builder/painter volunteered to paint him for me. David (my nephew) normally does superheroes, monsters and such. I told him I wanted it to look like he had been in combat and seen & experienced all the horrors of war… The thousand-yard stare…
I think he nailed it!
He defiantly nailed it
I'd love to see more on this original jacket, I have one in the 43 pattern (sharp edged)
Plus I figured to whack in this shot for your viewing pleasure - note they have tucked in the hoods for camouflage.
