Hey guys as the title says post up your Middle East souvenirs they can be Allied or German I would love to see what you have so post away

I will start off with a few mother of pearl sweetheart brooches made to be sold to the Aussies to send home to their mothers and/or girlfriends.

Trench art tankard, it says it was made from shell cases recovered from the battlefields of N. Africa.

I think the main body is from a shell case and the handle from melted down parts. The engraving is really good, but it is very difficult to photograph it well enough to do it justice. It was silver plated, but most of that has gone.

Well, ive got an observation sight from a flak 88 thats painted Dunkelgelb, so i imagine it could be from the middle east or northern afrika...

A friend of mine has the same tankard. Her father brought it home.
He was an RAF pilot.

I have seen one other, so I assume these were made on a small scale semi industrial manufacturing basis, rather than one of a kinds. I have also seen a similar example with the ETO map, but it was not as finely engraved and I don't think it was ever silver plated, but that might be a problem with my memory!
