I have never looked for one before and I must say this is stimulating the desire to uncover Italian relics. Notice the one in the tank photo is upside down.

Very cool pick up, a real time capsule. A shame about the visor but that can be fixed if you so desire. The close combat clasp is also a really good thing to get. Do you know any more details about where he served and with whom other than just the 5th army?

It was very exciting to receive this time capsule with all of its history. I have to wonder if the close combat clasp backplate is at the bottom of the old box it was in or if it was lost in the field. It is very clean, crisp and well marked.
