I bid on the spange document and was surprised when I got all of these documents including the nomination for the spange award which reads in part
"It was noted that during a bombing attack which killed a number of troops several were severely wounded and were in exposed positions. Uffz. Knappe retrieved them and sheltered and treated them without being intimidated by further bombing and strafing. He distinguished himself on two other occasions."
