I have read accounts of sailors keeping bone fragments of dead kamikaze pilots, but I agree with Adrian. I doubt that there would be much left to salvage after a plane smashes into the deck of a warship. But, even without the salty sailors tall tale, they are great relics.
I agree with Adrian. It is a great keepsake, but I really doubt it was taken from a crashed kamikaze pilot. The plane would have been engulphed in flames, and anything in the plane, including the pilot would have been incinerated. I think this is just a tall tale, or you misunderstood him.
