    The scope is mounted excatly where it should be - on the K98k the ZF 41 is placed on the side of the rear sight.

    Some great items here, a pleasure to see. Beautiful dog too.

    So why is the scope mounted so far forward? I thought you needed to get your eye up close to it?

    The 1.5 power ZF41 is a 'long eye relief' sniping scope... in other words the 'ocular', that's the bit you look through, has to be further away from the eye in order to focus. Most sniping scopes are 'short eye relief', and have the ocular closer to the eye.
