One of my more exotic (to some?) collecting interests is the awards of the Mongolian People's Republic.
I'll post here a few groups, and maybe a few singles, from this addiction.

After Gengis Kahn and his boys you really havn't heard much from the Mongolians.
Nice collection by the way.
I have always wondered if those boys had a slanted perspective about life.
Their last "visit" to Europe was in 1945.
Quite unique collection you got there, Ed.
Ed, impressive collection indeed. The photo of the officer with all the medals is quite impressive.
Thanks for all your photo's and congrat's on your collection addiction.
rgrds, Tyrone
"A few days later the second wave of conquerors arrived in Berlin. These troops - Mongolian regiments - no longer wore neat uniforms; they appeared in tattered, mud-caked brown tunics and baggy pants, tucked into short boots. They rode down Kurfurstendamm on what we called Panje-wagen - primitive horse-drawn wagons - hauling small artillery and supplies. Their horses were small, short legged, shaggy, and of an unknown, perhaps Mongolian breed.
After seeing these new troops ride down the KU'damm, our fears multiplied. They talked about it in the cellar, and people could not believe what they'd seen.
This ratty horde had given the death blow to Berlin? We had to face the truth. We were the conquered. And yes, these men in their horse-drawn wagons were our conquerors. We were the spoils." from "Goodbye to the Mermaids - A Childhood Lost in Hitler's Berlin" by Karin Finell
