I went back to the dunes today and i managed to find 23 x 50 cal shells, 2 x 50 cal clips, 1 50cal bullet, 3 x 20m clips, 49 x 20mm cases and 1 x 303 round. very happy with my finds as i was only there a few hours, cant wait to go back next week.

Nice collection, I've only ever found 1x .50 cal case and that was in Geilenkirchen on the German/Dutch border. I expected to find a lot more given the rate of fire of the M2 (450-550 Rounds per Minute). That said, it did have a single shot mode. Having done a bit of research of the Geilenkirchen area, I think it may have been fired during Operation BLACKCOCK in January 1945. This was the code name for the clearing of the Roer Triangle formed by the towns of Roermond, Sittard and Heinsberg.
