    Hi tdurbinmas.

The 361st Separate Helicopter Regiment with the Army Unit Number 19689 was formed in 1984 and was located near the city Vladymir - village Sokol. This unit had mostly Mil Mi-24 and Mil Mi-8 helicopters. The unit was part of the 40th Army and involved in many battles during the Afghanistan war.

Did you buy this flag from hermann-historica?

    Best regards,
    Andrej

Thanks for the details on the Helicopter Regiment Andrej. Yes, I bought that flag from Hermann-Historica. It's my second soviet regimental. I will post the other for you to take a look at. It is a WW2 era flag I believe.

Default WW2 Era CCCP Regimental - Comments?

My second CCCP Army regimental flag. An older silk flag, double sided with hand stitched Soviet Star and Hammer/Sickle and chain stitched lettering. Measures approximately 36" x 48". There is a date 1942 stitched in the end of the pole sleeve.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Hello,
what is the difference between the flag of the 1940s and the 1980s?

How is in the structure the big red star built up.
Is a pattern printed there or something sewn in?

the differences seem to be very minimal. The silk is the same and the embroidery is very similar. The 1942 flag looks a little older, maybe darker.
