Kraftfahr-Ersatz-Abteilung 4 was raised in Dresden and was part of the 154th Reserve Division, as you'll know from Der Lexikon... The 154th was raised shortly after the outbreak of war and was made up of Saxon & Sudetenland Germans. In 1942 the Division was moved to Northern Poland, however we know from Der Lexikon that by 1942 Kraftfahr Ersatz Abt 4 had been renamed as Kraftfahr Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abt 4.
Therefore we might surmise that as your half tag and Giovanni' whole tag although made of different materials would both appear to date from prior to 1942, as neither includes Ausbildungs. Given they part of the reserves we can also assume that the unit was replaces perhaps several times over, given that the 154th Division spent much of the later part of the war on the Russian front, as part of Army Gruppe Mitte, July/August 1944. Most of the 154th ended their war in Soviet captivity. We can't say for sure where your tags saw service, but it's highly likely that it was not an easy war for them.
