Issued on 26 August 1939 in Vienna from parts of the 1st / Flak Regiment 8 with five batteries (1st - 4th heavy and 5th light battery). In September 1940 the department was located in Braunschweig. In July 1941, the 1st battery was returned to the 1st / light Flak Division 834 and then again. In December 1942, the department in the Luftgau XI was deployed. In July 1942, the department was assigned to the heavy Flak Division 801 (o). At the end of 1942 the department was reclassified.
