Re: das reich
Correct designation is SS Panzer Grenadier Regt 3 " Deutschland "

Re: das reich
No, he was just correcting the formal unit title- an Erkennungsmarke from the unit would read something like 3.K. (E) SS ,,D'' and then the serial number (with that exact punctuation, the 'SS' as Sigrunen not just capital SS). That's the text from one original- you could technically use 1. or 2. or 4. instead of the 3. since there were multiple Ersatz Kompanien. It'd likely have Waffen-SS on the reverse. If you guy is an Alte Hase and had been with the unit since its early days, he might have a disc that read 7./SS. D. and then a serial number (low) with SS-VT or SS-Verfügungstruppe on the back- again with that exact punctuation, Sigrunen not capital SS, and you can choose any Kompanie number from 1. to 12. probably if you don't like 7.; 4., 8., and 12., were MG Kompanien, the others rifle Kompanien. That's for back when it was a Regiment alone before combining in Das Reich.

Re: das reich
Sure thing. And be a pal and mark 'repro' someplace on it too- just because you intend it for reenacting doesn't mean that somewhere down the road someone might mistake it for real or decide to try to pass it off as such...

Re: das reich
Sure. So the serial number on the same line after the "D" or would it be on top ?

All one line in both cases- blood group letter just goes anywhere (other than on that line that is)
