Disc ID

Could anyone advise me what unit this is or anything else about it? Wifes grandfather served in Italy, and had numerous German Naval Badges etc, and this was among the items. Trying to get an ID on it. Thanks for any help!

Sorry! I do thank you for the information. I posted a few other things (flak, u boat, high seas), and think I remembered to thank everyone there for their time. Wifes grandfather brought all this back, and I had put it together in a display. I have a pic or two posted in the general question forum.
