Dog Tag Identification Needed
This tag is part of our Holocaust exhibit at our museum. I am cataloging everything right now, but there was no tag with this one. Does anyone know what this is? I found some that looked like this one that were POW tags, but I want to know for sure what it is. The markings read "St. 366, Nr. 11907."
Thanks,

Re: Dog Tag Identification Needed
You are correct--it is indeed the type of tag generally seen for POWs....
Usually you have the camp number first, then the POW's number...

Re: Dog Tag Identification Needed
This is a Stalag (POW camp) dog tag. Does not seem original to me but I'm not a holocaust fan.

Re: Dog Tag Identification Needed
I doubt anyone would bother faking these- they're not worth much of anything. Stammlager 366 tags aren't uncommon either- one was already discussed here last summer: Stalag 366 prisoner ID tag? Poland?
Soviet, Italian and some French POWs- so soldiers; not relevant to your exhibit it would seem Wrigley- it's just general WWII.
Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...
