    Hi guys,

Just got hold of two Erkennungsmarken. These aren't my specialisation and I was wondering what other forum members think about their authenticity?

    I think the G.E u. A.B. one might be the Grenadier-Ersatz- und Ausbildungs-Bataillon 47 but I can't figure out the other one.

Thanks in advance for your answers

    Jon

Cheers Eike41! All good as far as authenticity is concerned? No red flags?

Looks good to me, the stamping is just right and I have seen a few others like it.

Great! I paid 60USD for the two of them which seem to be originals. Did I do alright?

I think that is a fair market price $30 each. You did not take a bath as far as I am concerned. I buy disks that I find interesting and they give me hours of entertainment when I research the units.

Good to hear that it's a decent price! Am I right in that the 1.Kol A.A. 7 tag is the older of the two? What should I make of the fact that it lacks a blood type stamp?

    Cheers,
    Jon

    Hello to all.
This is my Aufklärungs Abteilung mot. 3 - Stab markennummer 92 - 3 Panzer Division. The military units was part of the Deutsche Afrika Korps.
To make a comparison between the two EKM.

Giovanni, I think you may be mistaken on the service record of the 3rd Panzer Division, after it fought in Belgium and France at the beginning of the war it went to Russia for the rest of the conflict. The Aufklärungs Abteilung mot. 3 went to North Africa as part of the 5th Light division that later became the 15th Panzer Division and the Aufklärungs Abteilung mot. 3 became the "Panzer Aufklärungs Abteilung 33". This disk may be from Africa but it would be part of the 5th light division or 15th Panzer Division.
