It's from the 2nd Kompanie of Kraftfahr Ersatz Abteilung 31 formed on 1st April 1940 in Magdeburg, Wehrkreis XI. The unit came under the supervision of the 191st Division. The marks to the rear are for the owners blood grippe, blutgruppe. Nice original from early in the war.
BC is right, nothing wrong with this one. A nice aluminum erkennungsmarke. I like it.
Regards, Rik
Thanks guys, BC you know a lot. How can i go further and trace a name?
Unfortunately it isn't possible to trace the original owner as this information is held by the German archives and isn't open to the general public.
Unless you are next of kin or have this soldiers Soldbuch you will not be able to get the name and details of the wearer.
All I can do is share a link to the information regarding this unit:
Kraftfahr-Ersatz-Abteilung 31 - Lexikon der Wehrmacht
Edit: BC beat me to it ;-)
Thanks guys
We're glad to help!
