Article about: Hello i really dont know what it is ive buyed an old lot with ww2 things i think is a tag of something, first how can i clean this to make more visible the only thing i an see is top left li

    Hello i really dont know what it is ive buyed an old lot with ww2 things i think is a tag of something, first how can i clean this to make more visible the only thing i an see is top left little balls around it.

    It's not a German WWII (or WWI) Erkennungsmarke nor is any type of kit bag or other identifier tag that I've seen before- I suggest you try some of the other sections as perhaps it's from another country?
    Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...

    A big thanks i only asked because ive buy it with a lot of german things. By the way do you know any method of cleaning this??

    Ah, well there are potentially a thousand things I could be- it could even be a true dog tag for a dog

    The most I've ever used is a fine wire brush that will get loose material off but won't scratch the metal, and I'm very gentle with it as I certainly don't want to polish anything...
    Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...

    Salonete, please try to clean it and read any possible inscription or just single letters (you can find many techniques using "Uncle Google" ). I've got some idea about but it I don't want to make you confused without seeing any letters.

    Hi, Salonete,

    Try using a toothbrush and see if that works to clean it.
    They is soft and gentle on items with partial details.
