ID tag help

What can anyone tell me about this ID tag? Thanks in advance.

That's Panzer-Abwehr-Ersatz-(Abteilung) 17- you can find it with a quick Google search or on the Lexikon der Wehrmacht site as shown in the 'Find unit information here' sticky thread at the beginning of the section. Because it's Panzer-Abwehr and not Panzerjäger, and from the very low roll number, we know this disc was issued very early- prior to March 1940, which is when the designation changed. And from the fact that it has blood group letters on it, this soldier was still serving in mid-1941, when it's suggested the practice began.
