Kriegsmarine EKM Help!

Hi there,

A friend dug this one up near Brussels, together with 100 others.
What does a Kriegsmarine member do in Brussels?
Is there anyone that can find more information about this EKM?

So he joined the KM in 1943. But can I find who he was, what he did, ...?

Such information is held by the Deutsches Dienstelle (WaSt) in Berlin, and is only released to the next of kin of members of the German armed forces. Many KM personnel were drafted into the Heer during the final months of the war so quite possible that these were too. They may have been discarded when given new erkennungsmarken (although often they would keep their original). A bit of a mystery but in ok condition with much of the gilt colour still present.
