Kriegsmarine ID Tag--A Good One???

Hi, I would like to purchase this Kriegsmarine tag. From what I have learned here on the forum so far, I think it is a good one.

What do you experts in this field say about it?


It is $65US total. Is this a fair price?

Is it possible to find out what 43/K means, is it a unit or a ship maybe?

Why is it anodized, is it for corrosion resistance?

Why no slots, and smaller? The KM just wanted to be different?

It looks fine, as for meaning of the letters it was posted by a member recently what they meant, I can't remember now so if you do the search thing you will find it. Cost seems expensive to me but I'm a bit tight,

I do not know what they are going for. Cheaper is always better though.

A good ID disc, gold wash over aluminium. The Kriegsmarine designation is the marine number and date abbreviation for 1943. $65 is about the right price for the condition. Nice disc

Hi John, Thanks. 43 is the date then? I looked up "K" on the list Ade posted, and it seems the K is for Kanone-Cannon?? Was this was a sailor who manned the cannons??

KM tags did not have blood groups also?
