I´ve always had an interest in heavy Flak documents. What kind of history could an ID tag like this tell?

It was a Flak unit from Koenigsberg formed in 1939, four batteries of guns...unit was destroyed in Koenigsberg, February'45...
cheers, Glenn
Oh that was very interesting indeed. Thank You so much and may the members of the unit R.I.P. I was thinking about adding this ID tag to a display of a heavy FlaK soldbuch.

That one's neat because apparently it's the Ausbildungs-Batterie- a marking I've never seen before. We know the disc dates from after early 1942 since it was then that Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 11 became schwere-Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 11; and I would suspect that if it's indeed the 6. Ausbildungs-Batterie, it dates to after 6. 42 which is when sFEA 11 was divided into an Ersatz and an Ausbildungs 'version'; schwere- Flak-Ausbildungs-Abteilung 11 became Flak-Abteilung 661 not long after the split, so presumably it was after that the Ersatz formation added its own integral Ausbildungs-Batterie(n).
The roll number isn't extremely high- I know of one from this unit that was 2489, so the soldier to whom this one belonged probably wasn't with the unit at the end of the war in Königsberg- he was surely posted to a field Flak unit long before then. Unfortunately, the listing for the unit is very, very brief and doesn't note which field Flak units it supplied...
