Both look good for me Montag, the issue of metal chains for armoured crews was not rigorously followed, but the wear on your examples looks fine and good.
Hello.
IMO unfortunately not good, this example from the web, the letter R and the number 6 are different (but from the II. Bataillon not from the 5. Kompanie).
Hi there,
Thanks for your comment!
I saw your sample on eBay... Rather your sample is the same as other tag-font Style.
I also didn't attend your sample eBay auction as it has features excavated from the ground.
Battalion Stab and Kompanie may have different font styles... (basic common sense)
So the most important thing is to bring the 5. Kompanie Erkennungsmarke with similar military numbers.
Best regards
S.W.
I collect only those military numbers that are 'fast'.
Because it is the minimum condition to enter the organization chart on September 1, 1939
After September 1, 1939, military numbers were not assigned sequentially.
Because if the Ersatzmann is reissued the erkennungsmarke, the numbers is regardless of the 'rank'.
My III. Battalion-Stab military number is '5'.
As mentioned earlier, there are few people in the Battalion-Stab.
Look at these samples, the same battalion but different fonts.
And the Battalion-Stab sample was taken from the Russian forum.
The Battalion-Stab was very small organization and its number was '569'. If this is genuine, it is a 100% reissue tag.
The stamping sets were at different administrative levels, they could be anywhere from company to Division level. It depended on where the roll for the unit was kept. Also the sets would change over time, so the fact that a battalion and a company have different fonts is not a red flag.
