Good afternoon guys,
I present to you my latest erkennungsmarke.
This one is from Landwehr Artillerie Regiment 161, 4. Batterie (leichte Feldhaubitze). This regiment was formed on the 16 August 1939 and on 1 December 1939 changed into Landwehr Artillerie Regiment 311 (part of 311. Infanterie Division). This unit was then changed into Artillerie Regiment 311 on 8 March 1940. A lot of changes were made to the units and division this unit served under. I will post some links at bottom of the thread for those interested.
I believe the wearer of this emarke carved his name and a number on the reverse. To my eyes it looks like Tomuschatz or Tomuschatzig. The number looks to be 2322105 or 2322185, at least that is what I see in it. All I know is that this is not a Feldpostnummer, but I am also not sure if this could be a POW number? All help is appreciated, but don't forget to enjoy the photos.
