Hello Tiger1v welcome to the forum. Is it possible that the area in which you are finding these disks could have been a surrender site for German forces at the end of WW2. Can any of the locals help with memories of what may have happened there.
Hi Robin,
that's right. I am very sure the place I found is a surrender site. Unfortunately I don't have any contemporary witnesses but the chronicle and memories of younger locals gave me some interessting informations. I'm sure that the advancing us-forces liberated a convoy with POW's and arrested the german guards.
Today I spent a few hours in the forest to dig out some ID Tag's. The day was not bad. A lot of Wehrmacht ID Tag's at the beginning and a hot spot with a lot of POW ID Tag's at the end. I didn't have time to clean or refurbish them but I wanna show you how comprehensiv the area is.
