The Infantry Replacement Battalion 11 was mobilized on August 26, 1939 in Leipzig , in Military District IV . The battalion was subordinate to Division 154 and provided the replacement for the 14th Infantry Division . The battalion made 1,939 donations to the formation of II. Battalion of December 1 Infantry Regiment 433 . In May 1940, the battalion made donations to the formation of the First Battalion of Infantry Regiment 553 . In April 1941, the battalion made charges for the formation of the 1st Battalion of the 734th Infantry Regiment . The battalion was motorized on 1 November 1941 and then as Infantry replacement battalion (motorized) 11 designated. On September 25, 1942, the battalion in Leipzig was divided into an Infantry Replacement Battalion 11 and an Infantry Training Battalion 11 . The battalions was under from 1 October 1942, the Division 464 . Both battalions were renamed on November 2, 1942 Grenadier Replacement Battalion (motorized) 11 and Grenadier Training Battalion (motorized) 11 . On July 18, 1943, both battalions were united and de-motorized to the Grenadier Replacement and Training Battalion 11 . The Training Battalion was formed in April 1945 in the 464th Training Divisionmobilized. The training battalion is included in the field post survey with the name Grenadier Training Battalion 11 B and the field post number 56343 already from 5 January 1945. This was then deleted on April 28, 1945.

Indeed this ekm belongs to the Stamm (depot) company of that unit, so not directly a combat unit.
