Need help id panzer and kriegsmarine dog tags

Here are the other two Dog Tags I picked up last week. I don't know anything about them what value (If I have had my pants pulled down)

Hello,

10224/43K means that this ID tag belonged to the soldier who was 10224th soldier drafted in 1943 for Kriegsmarine coastal service (K - Küstendienst Land).
He might have been artilleryman, driver or weapons specialist.

Hi Jim,

While the Kriegsmarine disc is real, I'm afraid I don't think the Panzer one is- for several reasons:

- Firstly the font is a pretty common type on fakes- a sort of stubby (or stretched) sans-serif is always a red flag- as is the blood group letter being from the same letter set and stamped at the same time (they were probably nearly always done later by someone else and with different letters).

Here's one that's the same or extremely similar (compare the 'R' and the 'G' from the Panzer unit text):



- Secondly, it's a field unit with a low number would mean this disc had to be issued prior to the start of the war and it's far too clean to be true then. There's no wear on the neck cord holes at all, which is highly unlikely, and since blood groups weren't included on discs until somet time in 1941, the 'B' should absolutely be different.

- The layout is also fairly typical for a fake- Stammrollennummer (roster number) central, blood group upper left and lower right, although that one's just icing on the cake as it were.

If you bought this one or traded for it, I'd get my money or item back.

The Kriegsmarine disc is real, but it's probably from a hoard as I've seen lots of this particular one- I had 10 or 15 myself at one time- so it's not really worth much.

Because Erkennungsmarken are so easily faked, it's really always advisable to solicit opinions before buying, unfortunately.

Thanks again. They were with a lot of other stuff so it was a case you take the good with the bad. I did not know these were bad though, the bayonets are fine so I will have to come to some sort of arrangement with him.

Yeah, I hate to be the bearer of bad news multiple times, but it's good to know you got some good stuff in the deal so the couple of bad apples aren't 'spoiling the barrel'.
