Yesterday i found a really nice EKM relic. which belonged to one of the 1500 Indian soldiers stationed in Zandvoort (Holland)

Zandvoort (Holland)

May 1943 / September 1943

Infantry Regiment 950 (Ind)

I. Bataillon – infantry companies 1 to 4.

Approx 1500 soldiers strong.

I. Battalion was reassigned to Zandvoort in May 1943 where they stayed until relieved by Georgian troops in August. In September 1943,
the battalion was deployed on the Atlantic coast of Bordeaux on the Bay of Biscay.









Lost in the year 1943, and after 70 years in the ground still in excellent condition.

Terrific and rare find indeed, did you find it in the ground?
Thanks for showing...I'm familiar with Zandfoort, having explored a few of the coastal bunkers there in 1983 when I was 17 years old...

Hi Glenn, yes it was in the ground, near some bunkers, mayby without knowing it you walked over the EKM in 1983.

I also found a Russian bayonet, German whistle, Dutch WW2 bike with some camouflage paint still on it,
many French Mas and K98 Rifle Cartridges, and some other stuff. Al with a Whites 3900 metaldetector.

Mayby you can look up the bunkers you saw in 1983. This is a great site almost al the Dutch bunkers. >> Hoofdmenu

Excellent! All I found in Zandfoort was a 20mm projectile and some barbed wire, lol...
However, I also discovered lots of lovely topless ladies on Zandfoort's beach, lol...for a 17 year old American boy that was quite something at the time, lol...
