The Landesschützen-Bataillon 443 was formed on 1 January 1941. The battalion was established by renaming the II. Battalion of Infantry Regiment 622. The battalion was sent to the Military District VII and the adjutant Division 407 is assumed. The battalion was initially stationed in Schwabmunchen, also military district VII. As of October 24, 1941, the battalion in Marktoberdorf in the Allgäu, was also stationed military district VII.
