Infanterie Gun Ausbilding und Ersatz Btl , haven't seen one to this unit before but with the high number i'm sure Matt will have one in his archive , looks okay to me.
The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )
1st July 1916
Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings

That roll number is pretty high LOL The unit was created in 7.43 so I find it pretty hard to believe more than 12000 men went through in just 21 months. Even if it's unissued stock disc as that's a huge number of extras to make. It might be that the same roll was continued from its previous incarnation as SS-IG Ersatz-Bataillon Hamburg I guess.
But I don't know- there's nothing clearly wrong, but nothing that seems particularly good to me either. It's definitely not one of those that to me just looks real- the opposite in fact is the case; I immediately didn't care for it and started looking for obvious problems. Couldn't find any though- other than the perhaps high number and the different stamp set 'E'; in looking through the fakes I have images of, I noticed rather a few with mixed stamps- so the fakers have read people saying that real ones do sometimes show substitute letters. So it's now no longer a good feature, unfortunately.
My opinion is that unless you can find a 100% provably authentic example that matches this one, or it's really cheap and worth a risk, it's not one I'd buy.
