Red flag #2 = the letters look uneven as if they have been stamped by hand - BUT, if you look at the other side of the tag, the letters ( uneven as they are ) MATCH EXACTLY!!!! That can only mean a stamp ( or holder ) has been deliberately created with 'wonky' letters and used to stamp blank tags to make them look original and done by hand ..... and it aint so

As can be witnessed if you put them on top of each other in Photoshop...
I think it is two stamps... One for top line, one for bottom line...

A dealer I trusted ,I have since done a few days research and have come up with the same conclusion ,Heimwehr Danzig I think only had 1550 men at the start of the war and I think was absorbed into the Waffen ss soon after.

Well then, there's red flag #4 for you. If the unit only had 1550 men and the stammrollen number here is 1864...

I am asking for my money back, I think I will stay away from ss gear from now on. that little fat ''R'' should have been another red flag.

Very true, I saw the 'R' also but declined to mention it as to my memory the bad R often quoted has a short 'leg' and this one doesn't appear to.

Good luck with the refund, don't let this put you off SS collecting but let it be a lesson in first putting forth anything you are considering purchasing for discussion on the forum. It is likely to save you a whole lot of heartache.
