The Technical Brigade Mineral Oil (TBM) was one in the winter of 1941/42 in Templin as Mineralölbrigade K (K for Caucasus) set up specialized unit of the Wehrmacht during the German -Soviet War . In the course of the planned summer offensive in 1942 , the TBM was to take possession of the oil wells in Maikop , Grozny and Baku on the eastern front on the south wing behind the spearheads of the Wehrmacht. Thereafter, the oil production should be restarted and the fields are exploited. After basic military training and further training in the Romanian oilfield of Ploieşti , the units of the brigade were equipped with technical equipment, some of which was confiscated by French companies and partly came from Kontinental Öl AG together with other German companies, and Rostov-on-Don Set march.

Its equipment included 100 deep drilling rigs, 225 conveyors and ten transportable distillation plants with a total weight of 80,000 tonnes and a value of 80 million Reichsmark .
