Infanterie-Ersatz-Battailon 211, 2. Kompanie
Roll number 2271 and blood type 'O'. Nice tag! It reads 'Inf.' instead of 'Gren.', which means that the tag pre-dates November 1942.

You got it Ob- bang on. Interestingly, I haven't seen a lot of discs marked 'Gren.'- the vast, vast majority have been 'Inf.', despite the fact that it was only late 1942 that the designation change was made. And I always love discs that have a 'J' as a capital 'I'- it's uniquely WWII German

Yea, that used to make me think that J.R. always meant that it was a Jaeger regiment.
My one and only disc is for Inf. Ers. Btl. 216. It's not too far off from yours!
