Article about: by Wolfspear Thanks Karaya I have not seen that version before Nick The shortnosed one is a Mk 1, and apparently the oldest version..? The other, more commonly seen is a Mk 4 and it was used

    Hi, here are a few photo's from my late grandfathers personal collection. He served as a aircraftman / mechanic around different places in Africa.

    Excellent photos, you must be very proud of your grandad, thanks for posting, always had a soft spot for aircraft.

    The top photo appears to be a captured JU86 and the instrument
    panel photo appears to belong to it as well...
    Amazingly it still has its Junghans clock in place(1st thing to go from all accounts!)Nice photos many thanks.

    I am pretty sure of that, they were made with 2 different shapes frontends.

    Superb pictures. A real historical record that your grandad has left.

    Interesting Hurricane, basically because I can't see any MG ports on the leading edge of the wing. Photo recon ?
