Canadian RFC Aircraft Log Books

These were among the stuff I bought this past weekend, 1 is an Engine Log Book the other is an Aircraft Log book, both RFC.
As you can see the Aircraft Log book states the A/C crashed.
Both of these were used in Canada at a Pilot Training Squadron.

That's a fantastic WWI Log Book, no wonder it has "R.A.F. Can' on the right corner.

Well it has RFC Can on the corner, not RAF...I never noticed that!!!

The A/C log is for a JN4. The engine log book does not state which type of A/C it was on, however it gives the A/C number, however I see that A/C crashed also, however the engine was saved, after looking at these, I see that they are from 2 different Training Squadrons.

Interesting... a Cutiss JN-4. Which make sense being in Training Squadron.

A very interesting set of early flying ephemera, gotta be uncommonly seen I would think.

I had never seen this sort of thing before I bought them, so I am guessing they are rare.
Just think every WW1 A/C must of had these, guess they were thrown away at sometime.

Hello Dean, your logbooks are for curtiss jn-4[CAN] C132, third pic down, and C271, both were built by canadian aeroplanes ltd of toronto, both are from the first batch of 400 aircraft built, by the way super logbooks, cheers Willie

THanks Wingco, I have Canadian blue prints for that aircraft also, one dated 1917, the other 2 dated 1922
