Interesting to see the Artillery LPO8 with snail drum trommel. I know that these had a following in British Special Forces, check out the RM Commando below, was that one used by the Para's or just a bit of war booty do you know?

Apparently poor Bing was a little reluctant to jump over Normandy because the sounds of battle put him off the job so he had to be 'helped' out the door.......

Not sure Ned, I got the feeling from the captured weapons they were war booty as opposed to used. The LP08 looked in remarkably good condition to have been used very much. Great piece of kit though.

Yeah, you're probably right looking at some of the other kit there like the Iraqi manufactured Al Kadesiah sniper rifle. It's similar to the Russian Dragunov SVD but features a stamped steel receiver. No parts are interchangable with the Drag.

You often see these displayed as 'Saddam's personal gold plated sniper rifle', but in reality there were hundreds, if not thousands of these floating around.

I know that 1 Para had one in their 'interest room' at Dover a few years back. Actually it may be the same one when you get thinking about it!

Quite possibly, it was fairground quality plating. Nothing spectacular on close inspection.
