    Hi Ned, thanks for getting back to me, hopefully the pics are ok,
    the sleeve that hods the compass is broken by the looks of it, the broken piece is in the other bit of the pipe.

    Steve, great pipe. I have a number of similar items as I collect E&E compasses. Is the pipe maker marked in any way please. Thanks. TB

    You have to wonder...just how ,many of these amazing hidden pieces were ever Used? Very nice item!

    I've always liked little items like this that have a hidden secondary function, I'm sure that "Grimebox" who collects escape aids such as this will be interested in this thread

    Thanks for sharing it with us, I'm going to keep an eye out for pipes that look like this now, I wonder how many people have sold/thrown away pipes like this thinking they're nothing special?
