Another small group from my collection to a Sailor in the Soviet Navy who took part in the Defence of Leningrad.

Izvekov Pavel Akimovich, Извеков Павел Акимович, was a "machinist" in the Baltic Fleet as indicated on the AKT from the archive for his Defense of Leningrad Medal. He is #102 on the second page. No other awards were listed in the archive.

IZBEKOV served on the leading minesweeper of the Baltic fleet - “Leningrad”.
She was set afloat in 1933 and was in service from 1937 till 1958.
In 1963 she was used as a target in testing first Soviet cruise messiles. Two messiles hit the ship and it was shortly after declared unserviceable and was sunk.
