Defense of Moscow Medal. Variation 1 - Good?

With the help of Datrus, I am slowly but surely accumulating a few Soviet medals.

I was able to find this one on my own, but I am not yet able to discern between good Soviet medals and repros. I have the opportunity to add this variation 1 (Because the ring has been soldered on and is not part of the medal casting?) Defense of Moscow medal to my collection for $15.

Would anyone be so kind as to offer their opinion on it?

I think the suspension has been updated, but the medal itself looks fine, and at that price I'd be buying them all day, every day, that is if I had any money. . .

Thank you very much for the responses! I have sent payment for this medal. It should reach me shortly because it is currently located in Brooklyn, NY and I live only an hour north of there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it completely normal for the suspension systems on Soviet medals to be updated and changed out?

In my opinion, yes. . . Check the ring to see if its been cut. Regardless, you scored a good one!

Mondvor photo shows an identical variation .
