Defense of Sevastopol - finally

Thanks to Matthijs from Sovietorders I finally managed to get a 1st variation, type 2 (with thicker rounded edge) Defense of Sevastopol medal. I've been looking for an original 1st variation for a long time. Together with the Defense of Odessa probably the most faked campaign medal out there and it is a minefield to get a good one. And this one comes in a very nice worn condition with great patina. Funny actually how a "simple" medal can make a person so happy

Just before the year ended I managed to also get the Variation 1 Type 1 medal (without the outer edge). The year couldn't end better
