I guess, both CSM in 1947 and RS in 1953 are long service decorations for 10 and 15 years respectively.
There were 2 decoration decrees on the same date, one for gallantry and wounds during war and the other for long service.
The long service fits perfectly to the information here.
Bill, some of the post-war documents are available. F.ex. for the decree #223 from 06/Nov/47, and others.
But the post-war long service ones are not. At least, I have not seen any. Have you?
No, only wound award decrees, such as the 6 Nov 1947 one. There are even a number of wound award decrees from the early 1950s online.
The strange thing is that the database doesn't contain any of the Army long service award decrees, not even the 3 Nov 1944 one, but they do have all wartime Navy long service award decrees.
