    Default Medal for defense of the Soviet polar region

    A few days ago I bought a few soviet medals. Among these medals was also the Medal for defense of the Soviet polar region.
    The suspension and the ribbon of the medal looks OK but I do not trust the medal itself. Deceptive is the "wear damage" on both sides of the medal. The medal is a variation I (ring soldered to the rim of the medal).
    What do you think about this medal?
