Hello all..just wondering the value of this origional ww2 Order of the Patriotic War medal on its own..
not many of this type up for sale..it looks great....bit of damage on the 12.0clock arm, but it maybe combat damage, i can live with that...or i can get it repaired/replaced.....
i may go for it, its part of a set...
(2 x ogpw 2rd class and and one Red Star (combat number) plus award doc to the same person)

Several hundred bucks in perfect condition , LMD Trench reverse without mint mark .

I agree. If you like scarce variations, go for it! You don't see those trench pieces too often.

Thanks Guys for the advice, here is the full set....nice....small chip of damage on the red star....shows wear but it is a combat award....deal done on the way to my house...yes Bill, research (Auke) will have to wait till the new year, but i will post when its done.....

next question, the damage on the tip of the rare OGPW...restore/repair???
i have a contact that can repair these 100%.....but does it matter....

I would advise against restoration of the enamel. Their "character", in a manner of speaking, and research will tell the story. . .

There's one officer by that name in the database who received two OPW2s and a Red Star. He's a Major who was the assistant commander for technical affairs of the 328th Antitank Artillery Regiment.
