Cursory research in the archive revealed an Order of the Red Star (January 31st, 1944), Bravery Medal (April 11th, 1944), an Order of the Red Star (September 4th, 1944), an Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class (January 13th, 1945), and an Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class (April 29th, 1945), most while serving with the 252nd "Kharkov" Order of the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov and Bogdan Khmelnitsky Rifle Division.

Hello Bill, my small version:
Reference document issued by comrade Grigoriy Stepanovich Chernomorets, is that he really was in the service in the Office of the Forced Labor camps and colonies of the NKVD Ukrainian SSR from 15.10.1944 to 23.08.1946; and from 18.10.1946 to 18.12.1947 in the rank of the rifleman-driver. He was discharged at his own request.
