Re: Some medals fo review
by
Auke
I believe all medals to be original. The kolodkas (Russian word for suspension) are correct, except for the first one (Medal for Courage) and the last one (Medal for the Liberation of Prague). Up until the late 1940s these medals had brass or steel suspensions. These aluminum ones are replacements.
I agree with Auke, naturally. Also, I'd say the ribbons on 1, 3 and 4 are new replacements.
That shouldn't affect the value much. Most folk seem to only collect the medal.
Not me, though. I'm in the process of upgrading a few of my collection from [original, V2-3 medal and whatever ribbon and suspension] to [original, V1 medal, period kolodka, and worn ribbon]. I'm a fan of salty and not minty.
