    Dear friends collectors
I am new member here and i wish to say a hello to everybody.
I start to collect Soviet medals and orders recently following the infos i read here in this forum from all of you.
I would like to have your ideas about those badges that i picture from a seller in an open road flea market.
I am interresting to know about the authenticity and the rarity of them and if it worths to buy some of them. (I only hope to succeed upload the pic)

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

There is a real mixture of good original and bad fake items here.

Nothing is rare or especially valueable.

We always need good close up pics showing the back and front of any badge/award in order to make a proper evaluation.

    Cheers, Ade.

With such a picture there's no way to say anything about authenticity. The Order of the Red Star (top row, third from right) has some value, at least $40+, but it depends on the serial number. The Order of the Patriotic War (top row, fourth from right) seems to be a 1985 issue 2nd Class, worth about $20-25. Some of those Excellence Badges (hammer and sickle in the middle, white ring around it) are quite valuable, but also heavily faked. A few of those academy badges (diamond shaped) and the badges with the vertical sword could also be worth something, but again, there's no way to tell like this. In general, don't expect to find treasures on flee markets. I wouldn't be surprised if they're all fakes or the most common variation.

Buy the Red Star though, if you can get it for $40 max you might be pleasantly surprised.

It is really worth $40.00 with the enamel damage on the lower right arm?

Regardless of the serial number, I think a Red Star with this damage would fetch at least $40 on eBay...

Thanks to all of you for your direct answers.
Auke yes about Red star and GPW i have allready some basic knowledge about them. (By the way I adore Red Stars and i have allready 6 of them prepearing to buy 2 more soon).
But i honestly know nothing about badges and thats why i post the pic. To have some ideas from the specialists like you, RichieC and Adrian.
From all of these i am thinking to buy the Excellence bagde of Submariners and maybe this badge with Tank (Left page, second row, middle one) .... and offcourse to check the S.N. of the Red Star.
Maybe i will try to make some more close pics to the rest.
    Lets wait till Sunday ))

If original, and that's a mighty big if, especially without detailed scans of the front, back, & screw plates, both the Torpedo-man's & Submariner's Excellent Service Badge would be worth a lot, but I am not optimistic. . .
