1902 Karlsruhe casing?

Article about: I've had this casing for a while now, and besides the obvious - I would be really interested if anyone knew what the smaller symbols mean? (the crown etc)

Its a German 37mm shell case. The crown over M means that it was used by the Kaiserliche marine (Imperial German Navy). As you already know the case was manufactured by Karlsruhe in 1902, although it looks like it was re- used as I believe the primer is dated February 1918. This is quite common to see as I believe cases were re- loaded. Funnily enough I picked up two almost identical cases from Belgium a couple of months ago. Hope this helps. Cheers.

That's very interesting to know, thanks very much for your answer! Oh boy, from my small experience - small town Belgium is a treasure trove!
